...Panerai Super-Coolness...
Sylvester Stallone
Rockin' Pre-Vendome Panerai Luminor Marina
44mm Reference 5218-203/A PVD Coated Titanium
Sylvester Stallone is more responsible for the success of modern Panerai than anybody else on earth. It all began in 1995, when he was filming a movie named Daylight in Italy, and he happened to wander into the Panerai boutique in Florence, Italy, and fell in love with modern Panerai. It is arguable that Sylvester Stallone is the living embodiment of Panerai. He is strong, confident, handsome, clean-cut, masculine, macho, sophisticated, Italian, precise, outstanding, timeless and has always been cool. In other words, if Panerai was a man, it would by Sly, and visa versa.
In the future, I plan to write a much more detailed article on Sly and his impact on the ultra-succesful rebirth of Panerai. In this first photo we see Sly with Angie Everhart in the mid 1990s, probably around 1996, which was close to 20 years ago!!! It is interesting to note that when Sylvester Stallone first began wearing Panerai, he always wore them on his right wrist, but after a few years he switched to his left wrist, where they have remained.
In this next image below, we see Sylvester Stallone around 1996 with his current wife, Jennifer Flavin who he met in 1988. Jennifer Flavin is wearing a Yellow-Gold Rolex Lady Date.
The photo below shows the same Pre-Vendome Luminor Panerai Marina Reference 5128-203 A, which was the very first Panerai to be offered with a PVD coating, which also had a titanium case.
